It's been my understanding that for fiction material agents will request a query and occasionally samples pages, and if you're one of the lucky few, a submission of your ms. But I've been reading about some agents who request a synopsis. Wasn't that just for nonfiction? How do you write a synopsis of a novel? The same format?
