Can you think of any movie that you think deserves a sequel but didn't get one?

The one that immediately comes to mind is Top Gun. Everybody LOVED that movie, it had a great story, and it probably could have continued into another sequel if somebody had done it right.

What about you? What movies do you think deserve a sequel but never got one?

Rocketeer. It's about time they make a second one. The first one was actually fun.

Beetlejuice. Yeah, I know, Alec Baldwin is fat and Winona Ryder is washed out now, but that movie was pure gold.

South Park. When are they going to do the next musical? I'd say it was one of the best musicals of the last century.

Whoa there! Let's not get too crazy with the whole "everyone LOVED" thing. I, for one, do NOT love Top Gun. Dare I say, I don't even like it.

Oh, Trading Places. They need to make a sequel to that, especially in this economy. How timely! And Eddie Murphy needs a job...

I'm with Caro -- I fucking LOATHE Top Gun, and would, if I were king of the verse, round up every copy of it and burn it, and dance naked around the fire.

I'd pay you to do that. I'd pay more if I could watch. ;)

You know, if you replaced the words "Top Gun" in that sentence with "Paula Abdul," I think I could get on board with you.

How many copies of Paula Abdul exist, do you think? And is each one as truly vacuous as the last?

Ever see the Matrix Reloaded?

Yeah, that would be Paula. Just copying herself over and over again, each copy just as shitty as the last one.

I prefer the Multiplicity type copying. Each one slighty worse than the last.

Gladiator. Briliant movie, would love to see a sequel/prequel, and I know they have been in talks for years about one. Not sure if it would be possible, though, or live up to the brilliance of the original movie. Still one of my all time favourite movies.

Ronin. I love this film, it has everything; action, fast paced, great locations and an excellent storyline. I think there should have been more of them, so long as the same two main characters were in it: Robert De Niro and Jean Reno. I always called this the grown up's James Bond film. Long after this came the Bourne films, and I can just ell that they were copying the same premise as Ronin-To me this film will always be an original though.

Ronin is also one of my favorite action movies ever.

Having said that, I would be hesitant about recommending sequels to my favorite movies, because they could never be as good as the originals.

A sequel to American Werewolf in London. Sure, they probably couldn't get Landis back for it, but how could it go wrong?

I actually hated Top Gun. It was a terrible movie. Thank God for small mercies...like the lake of a Top Gun II.

I think sometimes a sequel tarnishes the memory of the original. Some sequels are terrible and should have never been made.

That blond thing should not be in the acting business. It was horrendous trying to watch that movie. Horrendous.
