was thinking about this earlier today. Have you ever had to kill off a character or put something in your story that is so close and personal to you that it made you weep?

C'mon, guys...share those emo moments!

Yep, there was so much telling and bad dialogue--

Oh.

You meant for a character. Yeah, almost. I knew I was gonna kill her off and so she got the most character development. I was sad to see her go. Poor thing had a great life ahead of her too.

I killed the only 100% helpful, nice, and funny character in my entire WIP . I made me sad, but I had to in order to continue the plot.

A dark, evil place.
On a rewrite, I had to kill off one of my young protags. No, I didn't cry, but I'll tell you, I felt bad about it for some time. When I think about it, it still bothers me.

My protagonist had a couple scenes that were poignant, scenes loosely based on some of my painful experiences. Writing the scenes and every edit (almost 20) I was so in my protag's head I bawled like a baby.

The only thing that makes me cry is when the computer crashes or I get a rejection letter.

Seriously, I don't like to read sad stuff, so if I'm making myself cry at something I wrote, it's probably the carpal-tunnel syndrom in my wrists acting up.

My character describes a rumored bad experiance of someone living in her building. It's my worst nightmare and my hardest memory. I wrote it down and cried for an hour after having flashbacks.
