chimita, i see you're from Chile. The K in the expression 1K or 10K or what have you refers to the word Kilo, meaning thousand. S0 1K is one thousand, 10K is ten thousand, etc.
Do you mean kilobytes? If so, that's a good question, though it might vary...
Edit: If this is a question of kilobytes, I did a brief and unscientific experiment with a Rich Text Document and a calculator and came up with about 25 words to the kilobyte.

When somebody says that they wrote 60k, what do they mean? They wrote 60.000 words or 1.500 words (for kilobyte as MumblingSage said)?
