Hi, newb tarnished here.

Currently, I have gone through two drafts of my novel, Halcyon Days (approximately 100 000 words). Although I have a few friends, English teachers and acquaintances proof-reading, I want to get a wide variety of reader oppinions before launching on my third (and hopefully final) draft. Post here if you're interested.

I've shaved down on grammar, spelling, and whatnot, but I wouldn't be shocked if one still finds vestiges of misused writing conventions. XP I'm more concerned about characterization and "transcedency" of theme rather than nitpicking. I got ten other people (including myself, lol) working ONLY on that, but if you feel like nitpicking, go ahead.

However, please just give me advice on characters, motifs, plot, etc. Those are the areas that I still haven't gotten much advice on yet. T.T

Also, I am suffering from a great deal of confusion of how to classify my novel. It's literary fiction... yet YA too. Kudos to whoever can help me with classification.

Will post Prologue and/or sample chapter on share your work if potential betas request it.

What is your YA about? I may be interested in going over it for you. I've gone a few YA's on for other members here and have enjoyed them; one of them is in my would buy if they ever became published.

I'll warn you now, I am very tart with my comments when I'm beta-reading.
If your YA is fantasy, I wouldn't do it, fantasy just ain't my thing.

Fantasy? lol, not me. It's set in the modern world and is literary, Ya and "contemporary", as in no flying monkeys, magic spells, or regenerating cheerleaders. XD

I was inspired by the Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, and Looking for Alibrandi, if you want to know what the novel feels like in terms of genre.

I'll beta for you; PM me if you're interested. I also have a YA, though it's not literary (i don't think, might be), so if you have time, we can swap.
I'm honest with critiques, usually inserting comments word-for-word (read:nitpicky). I can do your suspension of disbelief, voice, sentence structure, emotion, etc.
