Does anyone know anything about the above site, or its connection to a firm that seems to be part film production company and part ad agency? I got an email from that firm recently, out of the blue, inviting me to submit a film synopsis.
I don't know this website but as a general rule, I don't trust companies that send "out of the blue" emails. I'm a songwriter and this is well known tactic used by sharks in the songwriting industry, and I am inclined to think it is the same in the scriptwriting industry.
If someone wants to see your script I wouldn't worry about it being stolen and turned into a mega-blockbuster. It is extremely unlikely to happen. And frankly if it does you sue, especially if you've WGA-ed or copyrighted your work.
Scripped.com is a website that offers free screenwriting software. They store your script of their website. Your account's privacy is guaranteed, and nobody but you has access to your script.
Thanks. Scripped.com does sound like a good idea, but I'm still not convinced sending script ideas to producers who email you out of the blue is a good move. I guess it'd depend on how much detail you provided.
