I'm not manic
nor running
ahead of depression,
I am simply happy
truly happy
my nature is sunny
I'm ready to smile
even at people
I usually hate,
no whining either
what's the matter
with me
is this mood
terminal

I am standing in line again,
waiting for the moods
to move and to sway,
the one ahead, it speaks
on a cell, whispers in laughter
of invasion to come,
the one behind me,
it taps its feet and giggles,
plans for the day
it will pervade me again.
I'm not manic
or carefree,
just standing in line
in this terminal of moods,
waiting my turn
on the twisting wheel,
no whining or hate.

I am leaning over fronting the product and I find a smile on my face. why oh why am I smiling at the inert boxes and bottles on the shelf?
I am terribly happiness has inhabited my mind and body...and I love it. my body sings with this vibration. Is it evil, I ponder, to be so happy?
I am a woman who is used to suffering.

suffering
has been
my conjoined twin
for so long
that I am horrified by
this uncontrollable longing
this boiling volcano
this mad impulse
to laugh
