I freaking LOVE that show. Abby's the shizzle, Dahvid is majorly hot, I live vicariously through Dinozzo, McGhee is a genius version of me, and Gibbs is my dad, to a tee.

Anyone watch it?

I don't watch much TV, but EVERYthing is halted on Tuesdays for this show. I do nothing, and plan my evening for NCIS watching.

Yeah. They remind me a lot of my old Army CI team. And Gibbs is so hot he could boil water just by looking at it.

Although I remember when "Ducky" Mallard was the hot Russian, Illya Kuryakin, on The Man From UNCLE...

Oh, good. I'm not the only one who loves this show. I especially like Abby. Actually, I like all of the main NCIS characters. I even have NCIS wallpaper on my desktop.

I think it's great but here in Australia we're running on repeats. In fact so many programs are repeats on all channels that the TV section in the newspaper has changed the characters from RPT to R - they use it so much they'll save a fortune on ink with the change.

I love NCIS, too! Just started watching weekly this season. (I only used to pop into the living room here and there when my husband was watching before.)

My daughter bought my husband Season One for Christmas, so we've been watching the DVDs ever since Christmas. I definitely like the combo of DiNozzo, McGee and Ziva better than the original teaming of DiNozzo and Kate.

I love Abby, she's great.

22-1/2 years, Captain. I retired as a CW3.

Way cool ... and no cooler rank IMO ;)

Do you find yourself going, "oh that's b.s." a lot when you watch the show? I watch the occasional CSI, and when I do, I find myself saying that whenever they have something state of the art and expensive. Most of my professional career has been in county government - I can't imagine the respective CSI counties would allow for the whip ass offices their in, plus hummers, and huge salaries for their officers to be cruising in sports cars and luxury vehicles.

Actually, there's a lot about NCIS that rings authentic - like no one ever goes out alone, procedural stuff that's spot on. Of course, we never had offices like that - or those fancy big-screen-on-the-wall computers that miraculously pull up peoples' pictures when you're just talking about them. And Abby - as wonderful as she is - is just a pipe dream - you send your forensics out, and I only saw one place where the forensic pathologist (Ducky) was on site. Still, times & technology change and maybe they do have stuff like that now. Almost everyone I worked with was as smart as McGee, as tough as Ziva and as good-looking as DiNozzo - okay, maybe not that good-looking, but smart! But no one ever came close to Gibbs...

It's one of only three television shows that I watch...and I agree with Kate. I didn't work in that job during my Air Force career, but I like the authenticity when it comes to the way the military functions. Naturally, they have to embellish, but it's a great show.

LOL you should've met my dad before he retired ... as a gunny. I joke with my mom about her obsession with him, that he's just a younger version of my dad. I bought her a I "heart" Gibbs shirt for Christmas this year LOL.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE Ziva, she's fine as haaail, but Kate's death was a total shock. They did that so well, plus the next episode where they had to deal with her death was fantastic.

Arie's been a guy I love to hate, that's for sure, and I'm curious as to whether or not they're going to develop Palmer's character.

I'm not crazy about Gibbs because he's too serious, hardly ever smiles. He does his job well, of course, but I wouldn't be interested in a guy like that.

I much prefer McGee and DiNozzo.

I'm a huge fan of NCIS and the new season they are now showing on channel 5 is making my Friday nights even better. I was a fan of JAG before, too. Which brings me to the only problem I've had with NCIS. Using the same actors in NCIS that were in JAG before it, even though they are meant to be in the same 'universe' so to speak. McGee was in JAG as a different character, as was the bad assistant to Abi who tried to frame Tony for murder. He was Bud's little brother if memory serves.

Uh... (Shuffling feet and glancing around nervously)... "Hi, my name is Write Knight, and uh.... (Whispering) ... I'm an NCIS junkie...."

There, I said it.

Never caught it before a few weeks ago. Stumbled on it where they show THREE episodes back to back, but not always from the same season, so it's been a little weird to jump from KATE to Ziva. It'm enjoying how the writers and actors have developed the characters over the season, you can see how they start writing to the actor's strengths. No question the Tony, Ziva chemistry is hot. But I'm not in the 'current' season yet, so I'm not sure where I am in the storyline.

Yeah, Ilya Kuriaken from 'The Man from Uncle' and I think he won an Emmy for "Teacher, Teacher". Glad to see him working.

I also remember Mark Harmon as the 'breakout' new actor in MOONLIGHTING. Didn't he play Cybil Shephards love interest (an astronaut?) right at the moment when Bruce Willis was about to confess he loved her?

A very cute dynamic of the show, that is also slightly annoying:These are highly trained professional people - military with 'situational awareness' abilities above and beyond the normal persons, heightened senses. And yet, they are CONSTANTLY surprised by Gibbs showing up at the most inoportune moments in their conversations. He must be part ninja. It makes for an interesting recurring 'gag' - but I think the writers are using it as a crutch. (Or perhaps its because I'm watching three hours at a time, EVERY day for the last two weeks?)

I really like the chemistry of the cast though - clearly that's the key. The only other show that is as strong in MY opinion is CSI Vegas. Can't stand the Miami or NYC versions of that show, but Grissom rocks...

The "I ADORE NCIS" thread... fun place to be!

This is a show that I also came to through re-runs on USA. I loved Michael Weatherly from his days on Dark Angel (although he's MUCH hotter now!) and I've loved Mark Harmon since St. Elsewhere (again, someone who just gets better with age).

The way they killed off Kate was fantastic. Whoever thought that up was a great writer/director (whatever). Especially since we came to the show late and we had read that Kate died in the second season. So we were all waiting for her to die... the shot came... she was alive. YAY. Then...

One of the little things that bugs about the show is that they have Cote de Pablo, who's Hispanic, playing Ziva, an Israeli woman. Don't get me wrong, I love Ziva as well as all her idiomatic mix-ups, but that fact always seemed to bug me.

I also didn't watch the show until I started watching re-runs on USA. I didn't see the episode where Kate gets killed off until only a few weeks ago. It was so sudden, the way it happened.

It doesn't bug me, but every time I see her name in the credits, I wonder why. The only thing I can think of is that maybe she can learn the foreign lines she speaks so often, quickly.

I think she has the look - and the the accent - of a Mossad assasin. I think her portrayal is spot on - and the way the writers have her screw up idiomatic English is a great schtick. The actor does a good job - I think it's even more amazing when an actor is of a different descent than the character, but they do it so well it doesn't matter.

And her name is so exotic and cosmopolitan - although she is Chilean, she could be from almost anywhere. She must have a facility for languages - she is often called upon to speak other languages in the show.

And the episode where Kate was killed (Twilight, written by John C. Kelley) - it was so sudden, yes. Just like it happens for real. One day your partner/colleague is there, the next day you are investigating the circumcstances surrounding the death. Really awful, but that's how it happens.

So are we all ready for tonight's episode? Oh, shoot - it's only Monday. Okay, tommorrow night's episode?
