I was hoping to find someone here with some patent writing experience here at AW.
I started the process twice before but got scooped. I just waited too long. One is still feasible, but there's something a little similar out there.
My new idea is aimed for a specific Nevada company, so really all I need is a provisional patent, no really big deal, but I need to be ready with a full patent if they try to pull a fast one on me and take the negotiations past the year mark.
I know some of the ropes, how to check the patent registry for originality, etc, and my innovation passes those tests.
Really, it's the nuts and bolts of writing the patent itself I'd like some advice on, the pitfalls to avoid, common errors to dodge, things like that.
I also would like advice on getting the first round or two of submittals kicked back out without losing the patent. I understand the best patent lawyers can add five years to a patent by getting them kicked back for 'incomplete' data.
If anyone has some experience in this area, I'd appreciate hearing your advice.
