Pete's Compendium of Knowledge has been on the web, on and off, for over ten years. Pete (yes, there is one) resurrected it last year in an enhanced format and has recently moved to (what he hopes is) a reliable host.

What it is: users can create and contribute to stories, plays, poems, lists, odd questions, nests (conceptual "meme-stremes,") and dozens. There's also a sort of guestbook (the Wall) where people come to spew their pearls of brilliance, stupidity or whatever.

The place needs some fresh blood. Most users have a large number of identities (I have over ten) and my guess is that there are probably no more than six regular users. (You do not want to use your real name or other online personality here.)

Note: this place is not for the easily offended. Nothing is sacred, especially egos. Expect that any tiny error in punctuation or grammar will be mercilessly ridiculed, usually in the very next set of words added to the story.

Past masterworks can be viewed on the shelf, along with user reviews (which are often better than the story/whatever itself.) Occasionally, something moderately funny comes out of one of these group clusterf*cks:

NCome on over, check it out, we'll be waiting with sharp things.
