Try the screenwriting forum. Go to Share Your Work, and go the the screenwriting subforum. They'll be able to help you much more than we can.

I'd also recommend going to your local library and looking at books on the subject, because there is a lot of written stuff out there to help you get published.

Good luck!

I'll port this thread over to the screenwriting forum for you.

ETA: I also changed the thread name. If you want it to be something different then just ask the scriptwriting forum mod, they'll change it for you.

That's just the scriptwriting share your work.

As for selling it, well that's one of the difficult steps. You can send out query letters to agents and producers open to submissions. You can attend film fesitvals and parties and get contacts there. You can go to Hollywood and pound the pavement.

Your first challenge though is getting a script that's sellable.

Check out Derek's sticky atop the forum listing - a wealth of information! Way too much to summarize here.
But as far as looking for an agent, when you're starting out? An agent's role is to negotiate a higher selling price for you. Your better bet would be to query as many prodcos first as possible, get them to ask you to submit, and then you can query agents when you've created a buzz.
This is ONLY after you've got about 100 crits of your work, read every one and applied the appropriate revisions to your work. I mean FINELY polish your work, build it into a selling machine. You can post the first 10 pages here and SYW readers can tell you if you're on the right track. You can post full scripts at Zoetrope and Triggerstreet.com and get lots of feedback as well.
My 2 cents. Good luck!
