I'm finding this confusing:
words are flurrying.
Once
poems were partitioned:
the games were
..........here
the topics
....................there
everything in its place.
and then
the poems escaped
(as poems do.
They don't like contraints
unless self-imposed:
"Today I will be a sonnet, but don't you dare
tell me what to say!)"
They don't like being labeled, either.
But still I wonder
if,
in kindness to a poor befuddled poet
they might alert us.
If they would
(of their own free will, of course)
assume labels,
adopt conventions
allowing us to play
GAME: gamename
or discuss
TOPIC: topicname
and let all unlabeled
be simply
poetry.
