I'm curious, how do you format the page so that you can use that traditional HUGE font at the first letter of each chapter? I can't figure out how to get the rest of the paragraph running next to it.

Can anyone help?

Example: http://www.tamu.edu/upress/BOOKS/2002/pattie1-1.gif

If this is answered somewhere, I'm very sorry. I find myself extremely busy to go forum searching.

Thanks in advance.

Do NOT format your ms. other than just standard text.

Let the typesetter do their job IF and WHEN your book is getting published.

Anything else just tells the agent you're an amateur.

P.S. if you want to do that for your own stuff like newsletters or self-published stuff -- that's called Drop Cap. In Word there's a Drop Cap function to do just that. In other processors, there may or may not be.

I wanted to know how to do it for my own amusement.

And yes it is very creepy, lol. It was the first picture I saw with it on it.

Google "Drop Cap" and you will find some instructions on how to do it (in Word, etc.)

This should go to the "tech" forum, by the way.

Alright, thanks.

And ah, yes it should. This can be deleted or locked if anyone wants too.

You're a great help Maestrowork.
