I missed the first few minutes, but I liked it. I'm surprised its only a half hour, it seemed over two quick, even though the setup was finely established. I thought the funniest part was the flash of the 'boys' going to the gun range. The husband struggling to fire, Tara as Buck shooting, gung ho, and the gay sun Marshall with his feet up reading a book. It said a lot in a small space.
I'm curious to see more, surely the dad and kids can't always be so casual about it. Issues are bound to happen. Not bad.

Yea, when I saw that it was only set for 30 minutes, I was slightly let down, but you are right; it said a lot in the alloted time.
I've got the DVR set to record the series.

Yeah I might dvr it. I'm not used to watching shows on a weekly basis. I usually watch old stuff on dvd. I might get frustrated at having to wait for this and wait for The Tudors, too. Yeah, they're both Showtime.
I was skeptical about it before I saw it, but I thought it was amazing! Interesting setup, loveable dysfunctional family, great cast, funny writing. Looks like it's going to be a really interesting look at how mental illness impacts the whole family. The big-sister-copes-by-being-trampy-while-the-little-brother-rebels-by-being-bookish thing felt a little cliched, but other than that I loved it!
I cracked up at the brother reading 'valley of the dolls' while wearing a suit at the firing range while his parents are shooting their guns. The daughter's boyfriend was HILARIOUSLY skanky. From the trailer, it looks like the family has lots more problems and struggles as the series goes on.

SHOW has a great line up! I'm watching the Call Girl show also and it's entertaining. Dexter is great. Tara...Weeds...Nurse Jackie looks fabulous. I think that's what it's called.

I just recently got digital cable, but I had the Tudor dvds before and was glad to see season 2 on demand. Some of the premium movie selection is weak, but the shows are good. HBO only has Real Sex, and I'm a bit tired of Cathouse. So Showtime it is.

I liked the first episode a lot, and Toni Collette is astounding. I don't have time to watch all the shows I would like to, but this will be on my must see list each week.
I particularly like it not only because it's really good, but also because it's really different -- you're not going to find anything else like it on the tube.

Well, are ya still intrigued with the story after seeing episode #2? I personally loved the restroom scene with the soap. That was great. I hopped around during it so I'll have to watch it again to get all of it though.

Gave up after the first episode -- couldn't get into any of the characters for some reason except Rosemarie DeWitt's.

I just got a free movie package that will last for six months, so I've started watching some of these shows. Tara is okay, and I can see it getting better now that we're getting to see more about the rest of the family. I'm absolutely loving Secret Life of a Call Girl. I can't wait to see the next episode of that one.

Was it hard for you to watch her with the young boy? I couldn't handle it, but once I realized what was going to happen with Alex I kept on.
Great ending scene I thought.
I don't think he was terribly young; he mentioned having a girlfriend at 17-years-old before his "body gave out." So, I figured he was 20 or so. I think it's probably good that Alex walked in on her with him rather than some of her freakier clients...
I mean, it can't ever be a good thing to walk in on your girlfriend having sex with someone else, especially to then discover that she's a prostitute. But some things are harder to stomach...
I really felt terrible for all of them; the kid, Alex, and Hannah. That's why I love the show; they've created a realistic and sympathetic character out of someone who would be easy to dislike. I loved the last episode where the wife was vomiting in Hannah/Belle's bathroom

Another thing, I love when that moment passes when the family isn't sure if she's Tara or one of the others. Because I can't tell either. And you hope that it is Tara, but it usually isn't.
