"Whiskey Creek Publishing"

I was asked this morning by a fellow author, if I'd heard anything on this company. Personally, I have not, but did check them out. Anyone know anything about them?

If they're not in the Writer's Market, or Literary Marketplace (and they're not) then I don't tend to trust, not that I'm saying they're for sure bogus. Maybe they're new and eager and perfect for a new writer. Maybe they're fly by night.

They primarily publish e-books.

A baker's dozen of paperbacks at Amazon, with sky-high prices and abysmal sales numbers.

I wouldn't put them on the top of my list of places to submit.

On a fig tree, presumably
stuffedtoy, the Water Cooler has a Bewares and Background Check forum for sharing information about publishers. You might want to go down there and look for leads on companies that would be better to deal with and ones to avoid.

Their wholesale terms (from their website) are pretty far outside book trade norms: pre-paid orders only, store discount is only 25%, stock is only returnable up to 45 days. I doubt they do much business with bookstores and wholesalers with these policies.
