Ok if two businesspeople owned a chain of pizza restaurants why would they be meeting with two other businesspeople? The pizza restaurants are not a franchise so they wouldn't be interested in becoming franchisees.

To arrange some some of service for their chain of restaurants.
To interview suppliers.
Meeting with architects to redesign the restaurants.
To set up the company's 401k plan.
To discuss selling the business.

They might be trying to get them to switch the restaurants' soda fountains from Pepsi to Coke, showing them all the signs, clocks and assorted whatnot they'd throw in, discussing costs, etc...
They could be trying to get them to hire an outside contractor for their deliveries instead of handling it with employees of their own.
They could be selling them on any ingredients, equipment or supplies you can think of.
They could be investors the restaurant owners are discussing loans/expansions/debts/profits with.

Maybe they're interested in expanding their business and need other business people to help them become a franchise.
Don't worry about it; happens all the time here. This forum moves fast at times.
Sometimes when two or more people give the same answer it helps to determine what would be the most common reason for something.
They could be:
Meeting with execs from their ad agency who are presenting a new marketing campaign.
Meeting with architects who are presenting new pizza restaurant designs.
Meeting with two investors--silent partners (doctors, perhaps) who have lots of captial to help the business expand for a cut of the profits.
Just a few thoughts...

No these aren't shady business dealings.
That sounds about right thanks.
They're all great ideas, but some of them would require more research than I'm willing to do for such a small part of the story.
Research is overrated.
That may sound like a flippant response, but I mean it. If two of your characters need to be in a generic business-style meeting, then put them in one.
Unless the details of what the meeting is about are pivotal to your story, there is no need to write those details, and so no need to research them.
New sign for the business.
New lease on the building or equipment.
Paving job on the parking lot.
Newspaper, radio or tv station agents to discuss advertising. Even the yellow pages.
Sometimes we meet with people who own like businesses just to shoot the bull and to see what we each think the new coming season will bring.

You can work it in to let them do anything to further your story.
