Hi. This is my first post ever actually... I'm looking for a beta reader for my first novel. I'm calling it chick lit-there is a primary boy/girl relationship, but the story is really about a young, old money woman trying to pull herself out of the hole her father left her in emotionally and financially. Given the time period, the easiest way do that is by agreeing to spend the summer protecting her grief-stricken cousin and spying on her murderous and over-sexed aunt at the request of her uncle, who is dying in Italy. Complicating everything is a would-be sugar daddy, some deranged mofiosi, a gaggle of society gossips, her cousin's disappearance and her aunt's former WII soldier/horse trainer-who turns out to be a bootlegger and a hero.

I would really be so very grateful to anyone willing to read it. I've been working on it for a long time so I feel that my perspective is totally shot.

Thanks

Chick-Lit isn't my genre, but 1923 is within my favorite period to write in. I've done a good many yarns set between the World Wars, mostly mysteries, horror or some combination thereof. My next two tales due to be published are both set in the 30s; a bit past your time but not excessively so. I'd be willing to take a look.
