I’m just wondering has anyone availed of the Fish critiquing service. This is in regards to the Fish Short Story Competition. The entry fee is pretty pricey at 20 Euro to begin with and then the critiquing service costs 45 Euro extra. So, has anyone ever had a critique from them and is it worth it?
Also, and I hesitate to mention this but I will.
Once, a long time ago, on another writing site, one of the members had a little rant because this member had placed in a Fish competition but had been reported as having previously published the story. There was a bit of a kerwuffle but it all got sorted in the end. What caught my eye though was the reference to the fact that this member noted that he/she had been critiqued by Fish and they were working with her/him to get it all sorted. Does that sound like a critique allows you to rework the story and stand a better chance of winning? Have I misunderstood? Much to ponder. I’ve a story that needs a home. Any information anybody?
