So, I just accepted representation with an agent who loves my story. Woot!
The agent suggested I write proposals for the next two books so that we could submit my work as a trilogy. She specified 3rd person present, so I'm guessing that they should be synopsis-style even though the purpose is a little different. My problem is that I've never written a synopsis before, so I feel like I'm kind of shooting blindfolded. I read through the synopsis guidelines here and other articles online, so that's helpful, but I'm not sure if I need to include all the same things.
It seems that the first book would clarify all the setting and much of the characterization and that these two proposals should develop character and plot. Does that sound right? Does anyone have experience with this?
I plan to submit my attempt to my agent and ask for her feedback, but I would like to at least be in the ballpark when I send it to her, so any input you might have would be very appreciated. I need to finish these up this weekend, so I would be greatly indebted to anyone who can give me speedy feedback. Thanks very much!
