Hello there anyone for plum pudding flavoured decadence this month? I won't be here for all of it... holidays and, ehm, Christmas :D but I made a start this morning with 1,000 cava flavoured words...

I have no words to report today but had to log in and say I love the title. :)

Not sure what cava is, but good writing speirbhean!

My brain is still recovering from last weekend's NaNo push, so no words, but I'm planning to continue working on my NaNo at the 500 words/day pace until I hit an ending.

I don't need story-words at the moment, but I need a lot of worldbuilding and plot-refining still, so I'll be working on that. Somebody poke me if I don't post updates!

(except this weekend; I'll be out of town)

I wrote 3,161 words yesterday. Today, I've been goofing off so far. Time to get to it. I've also got to get around to sending out some more queries on my last WIP, I got another form rejection on that one.

Too bad about the rejection, RJK. Better luck on your next round of queries. Congrats on the 3K words!

No words last night, but I think I'm starting to recover from this weekend. I read through my NaNo and let my alpha reader look at it, too, and the parts which I thought were horrible when I was writing it weren't as bad as I imagined. Still incomplete, still needs a lot of work, but there are a few good points. Diamonds in the rough. Or maybe cubic zirconias. :D

AnnieColleen? :poke:

I'll be out of town this weekend, too, for my niece's wedding, so I doubt I'll get anything written then.

Mmm, sparkly wine.

I got a few revision notes on paper last night. Fun with giving characters bad dreams. :) As far as today's, I'll have to sit down to it when I get back from choir practice tonight. (Can't really skip, after the last couple of months!)

Thanks for the poke; much needed & appreciated. :) Good news on the draft!

character profiles and more brainstorming work for the new project which has a title and five suspects - yep, it's a bonafide whodunnit (albeit a gothic occult whodunnit) - working title Night of the Pentagram.

:e2writer:

job interview at the University this morning seemed to go well, more stressed afterwards than I was before, but fingers are crossed and hopes are high!

Glad the interview went well, Cap. :)

A few more plot-point notes tonight, and some plotting exercises to try to focus in on the essentials. What's a positive character trait/value that would be in opposition to independence/self-reliance? (something along the lines of building alliances or reaching out across estrangements...) My brain is tired!

I did 1,901 yesterday. I thought i'd hit my 2K goal, but after I did the math I realized I was off by a hundred. I'll make up for it today.

Someone who's always helping others, sometimes to their own detriment? Empathetic to the plight of others, always sees themselves in the other person's shoes?

No words yesterday, and probably not until next week. I'm flying out at o'dark-thirty tomorrow morning to go to my niece's wedding and won't be back until Sunday night. I might be able to get something written, but I wouldn't bet heavily on it. Time to catch up on reading.

The good news is that I was brainstorming with my alpha reader and we came up with some good ideas to kick up the intensity in the next section of my NaNo story, so when I'm ready to pick up the pen again, I'll have something to write.

:Sun: and :poke:, everyone!

I had a busy day yesterday, running all over town and only got 446 words on the screen. Nothing on today's schedule so no excuses.

Hi guys - keep it up! 1100 for me today. I won't be online much for the next week - heading of on holidays, big smile, but I'm going to try and keep up the word count. Maybe on paper, maybe on lap top if I can make my mind up whether to bring it or not. But keep up the good work and I'll be talking to ye before too long
xx

Hi kids, I managed 2,845 yesterday, but haven't typed a word so far today. Feeling kind of lazy.

Captain Howdy, sorry you didn't get the job. :( But ice cream is definitely the right path to take.

RJK, you are allowed to feel lazy after a day like that!

As for me I wrote two sentences on the back of an envelope at a red light the other day. Right now my life is so stressful (good stuff and not good stuff) that I just don't have the creativity or energy or time. But shortly after Hannukah and Christmas my load should lighten.

I got in 443 yesterday, then took a break to watch the Buffalo Bills get their collective a**es kicked by the florida fish.

:) Ok, I love the red-light writing. There's creative time management!

Still working through plot brainstorming here, and some good ideas popping up. I wish there was some way to quantify progress on this stuff!

I'm back! (I know--who is she, and why should you care?)

But I did get 1832 words in today. OK, sadly not in my WIP, and the 'in-progress' part is in danger of expiration. But I have a devotional to finish by Saturday, and then I should be able to get back to work on my mystery--except for a scheduled trip to visit the in-laws, shopping, decorating, baking, wrapping...

Do Christmas cards count on our word total?? They should.

I hear ya AnnieColleen - it "feels" like I'm putting in as much time as - if not more than - when I was cranking out 3 hours of writing a day for NaNo. I'm on my second overhaul of the new outline and it improves a little bit everyday. I must say I'm glad I'm doing it this way, working out the kinks before I get halfway through and run out of ideas. Aiming toward starting the new MS in January and planning on attempting a goal of 65K-80K in six weeks.

Hey, Bflo, saw you over on Nathan's contest. Good writing, friend! I wish I had a sense of adventure. :)

Anyone else here enter? I'm only about halfway through reading...

My niece's wedding went off with a hitch (sorry, couldn't resist :) ). Everything went well, and it was nice seeing my family. Unfortunately, I also picked up a cold on the way back, so I spent my day off yesterday on the couch with the cats watching movies. Ah, well.

No words over the weekend, but I'm hoping to get back in the writing groove this week.
