This year it's been won by- argh! Passive sentence alert!

This year, Rachel Johnson won for her novel Shire Hell.

Johnson is quoted as saying:
I always wanted to win a literary award and to bag this coveted prize - a prize that has been won by admired giants such as Norman Mailer, Sebastian Faulks and Tom Wolfe - is, for me at least, a tremendous honour.

I'm just trying to imagine a love scene where one participant is gripping the other participant's ears, and it's leaving a funny, non-sexy image in my head.
