For my very first post, I get to admit I may have lost the rights to one of my poems.
I submitted online to Poetry.com's contest. The site claimed I would retain all rights to my poem.
Of course, now I'm a "semi-finalist" and all that stuff. I've realized it's not legitimate so now I'm scrambling to figure out what to do next.
They've sent me a letter informing me I'm going to be in a book called "Immortal Verses". I'm supposed to send back a signed paper saying this is my "true work".
I have two questions.
1. If I do nothing, can they publish it? Do I need to officially withdraw it?
2. Will I still be able to submit this poem to a legitimate publication or have I lost the poem?
