Shoot me now. It'll be the destruction of the superhero movie as a genre. Seriously, I watched gossip girls once for five minutes before i wanted to chuck the tv out the window. And now the person who is responsible for *that* gets to make a movie about not *that*? I would liked to have been in that production movie. "No seriously, I know he makes a show about spoiled, selfabsorbed, unrealistic, teenage bitches and sluts, but seriously he could totally rock the X-men."
I don't know if it matters but he is also responsible for "The OC".

In another interview I read where they spoke to Schwartz he said he wanted to focus on some of the ancillary characters that were shown in the movie but not really explored - like Kitty Pride, Jubilee, Iceman and
ROGUE!!
Yeah, making the whole first movie pretty much about HER is a sure way to call a character 'ancillary' and 'not really explored'. Idiot.
Now to have someone else go on and say that the
X-Men First Class series was about Xavier's first group of mutants as if this was something really cool and NOT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAMN COMICS!!!! Now, the question is...aren't there enough damned comic book geek writers out there who could actually write a decent script to base a movie one. Maybe even a writer who has actually cracked open a comic book at least once in their pathetic, dreary Hollywood script writing life?
This is akin to giving the Star Trek franchise to a guy who's never watched the series and was never a fan of it and then saying "Oh yeah sure, go ahead and destroy the meticulously planned history that we've guarded so much for the last 43 years." And this was what was supposed to make the fans glad that Berman was out of the picture?
