Paula Danziger

Just saw this at the SCBWI website when I logged in.

Our beloved SCBWI Board Member, great friend and writer Paula Danziger passed away today from complications after a heart attack suffered a month ago. Paula had so many fans and friends among our SCBWI family, and we know you all join us in mourning her death and celebrating her life and work.

How sad. I really loved her books when I was little. She was a great author.

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.She wrote about insecurity issues that plague us all, body size and appearance for example, and showed her readers (pre- and early teens) positive solutions. The popularity of her books are an indicator that she never preached, and was true to voice (and ear) of that age group.

I heard that on CNN she was only like 59 or something. I read most of her books... they were very good!!!
