Is anyone else sick of these cookie-cutter stereotypical NY cop BS movies. I just saw "We Own the Night," after watching "Max Payne" about a week earlier. Admittedly, Payne was supposed to be a stereotypical NY cop story. But after seeing this other movie, I think I know where Marky Mark got his accent for Payne (it's the same exact character he plays in this movie. He's a NY tough guy cop who yells a lot, sound familiar?)
It wasn't realistic, the opening scene was the MC rubbing his girlfriend's crotch and snorting coke, and the movie rode that drug-angle the whole time. Also, what SWAT team is having shoot-outs with drug warlords that look like a scene from "Saving Private Ryan" on Normandy Beach? Give me a break. I don't believe it, even for NYPD. This movie sucked on all levels.
