bashfulLV
I've been reading the newsletter for a while, but this is my first venture into posting messages. I have written two books - one is a romance novel, one is a non-fiction, and I'm trying to finish my third book - a fiction novel. I haven't published a thing, but not for lack of trying. I happened upon this whole "Absolute Write" thing while trying to determine if the publishers and agencies I've been dealing with were legit. Billie Johnson from Oak Tree Books, S.T. Literary Agency and Limitless Dare2Dream Publisher were who I was dealing with - and I'm sure you know they are ALL dead ends! Oh well, keep writing, keep trying - right?
I do have one question - being new to more than just this forum, but also to the writing industry in general - is anyone familiar with the WGA contest for writers and screenplays - the one whose deadline is May 31st? I know this is a dumb question, but the advertisements I've read about it say you can enter two pieces of work, but then when it comes to novels, it says "A" novel or "A" novel in progress. So, because it's a novel - only ONE piece can be entered? I'm really not this stupid, but I don't want to have my submission thrown out because I entered two when only one is allowed when it comes to novels. Thanks for your help.

I suggest asking about the WGA contest in the Screenwriting topic.
