New member checking in here. I was invited to join AW by Joanne Kiggins and am overwhelmed by the amount of great information here!

I'm starting a writing and research business (home-based) and am leaning toward business writing such as grant writing, business plans, newsletters, press releases, etc. My background was 20 yrs in the corporate world doing a lot of technical writing for business and systems areas in a financial institution. So I'm not the highly creative type that so many of you fine people seem to be. More the logical, analytical type.

Hope I can contribute to the group as well as learn from all of you.

Thanks Joanne for referring me and to everyone for what I'm sure will be a great experience!

We're delighted to have you join us, Sally. Don't worry about contributing and learning in equal amounts. I thought I'd be able to give more than I actually do, because so many people here are way ahead of me on the learning curve--but they never make me feel stupid. Now that's a great group!
