Hi everyone, great site. I have been searching the internet for a work at home type of job and so far have only came across Bl*"%$y herbalife products, well that was untill i stumbled here. I enjoy reading writing etc and thought how perfect, so how do i get started is the big question. I would be quite happy to do writing work for people but eventually would love to write about travel such as camping etc.. So any help from anyone for a complete Newbie would be heaven sent. Thankyou Allan

Hi and welcome to the AW boards. If you read the Learn Writing from Uncle Jim thread (it'll take days...) you'll learn a lot from that. But also Jenna has a great web site, absolutewrite.com is a terrific way to get started. Quite a bit of info! Also, go to the library and get as many books as you can on writing. Read, read, read.

My best to you!

Welcome, AussieWombat! My advice to you is to study publications, read freelance writing books, and write. Don't put off the latter while you're doing the former. Writing is what makes a writer.

I wish you success! :hi:

G'day eh, from a fellow Commonwealther. The AW Cooler with its dozens of boards is terrific starting point for the serious writer. Get familiar with the place and study old threads on the boards that coincide with your interests. Specific questions can be asked on those boards.

A decent place to start is our old FAQs thread.

G'day to you, Allen. We're always glad to scoot over and make room for one more. (Pass the potatoes, will you?)

Maryn, who really shouldn't be eating this close to dinner
