I've been querying some outstanding submissions. and have some dead market news to report

Grimoire: Probably Dead. Email address on website bounces
Cats with Wings: Dead
Parade of Phantoms (audio): Dead, Website gone.
Knitwitch (audio): No new content since Feb 2008
Stitches (dark medical humor): Dead, Ceased publication. (which is a pity as they paid a whopping 40c/word!)

Do you know if City Slab is dead? All my e-mails to them have bounced.

I'm curious about City Slab too. I subscribed awhile ago, and haven't seen boo from them.

I thought audio market sniplits was dead too, but when I queried them, they apologised (for the 9 month delay!) and accepted my story...

City Slab better still be around, those turkeys took some $$ from me for advertising, then didn't run the ad. I've also been trying to get a hold of them and am thinking about using some miles to fly to Frisco for a "Personal" visit.

Yep, the submissions email (submissions at cityslab dot com ) bounces.

I've got a seperate email addy for one of the editors. I've mailed him, and am waiting for a response. Hasn't bounced (yet)

Also - Any news of Big Pulp?

They were coming along nicely with twice-weekly updates, but the last update is in July. I also don't seem to find anything about editor Bill Olver since around that time.

They accepted a story of mine, which was scheduled to be published this month.

I just saw, on Bill Olver's Facebook, that Big Pulp was "back on track." The "News" section is still stuck in July, but it's alive.

ETA: Hmm. Still no movement. And I was supposed to get a PDF of a story tha they'd bought, but it hasn't come. Maybe I'd better query again.

ETA(2): I left a comment on Bill Olver's Facebook, asking after Big Pulp. No response yet, which is a little worrisome. If it's a go, I imagine he'd have said so.

I just pulled up their site before I typed this post and it had a picture of their most often photographed sexy redhead wiping a tear from her eye (you know who I mean), and it said they were permentantly closed and it was too painful to discuss in detail. I'm hoping they refund me the $$ for the advertising, but I'm not holding my breath
