Hi,
I'm returning from losing my companion dog back in May 2005. After beginning to heal from that loss, I nearly died four times in 2007 and 2008. I plan to write about my experience as a fictionalization. That's my writing style.

I used to post more on the Erotica genre, Life Story Writing, because I started writing what sounded more like Erotica. However, now that I've written the second draft on my book the genre has changed. I've participated on Nanowrimo and people there told me my genre is Literary Fiction. I'm confused.

I thought it might be Autobiographical Fiction, but, and a big one at that, ;) I love to embellish my life story. I've made my characters and the lives they lived more interesting and exciting than they actually were.

My book(s) focus on human conflict originating from abuse/neglect/torture and my main character's healing journey. I easily write 400-500 pages/100,000 words and the subject is fictionalizing my life. So is this Literary Fiction or Life Story/Autobiographical Fiction or

Firstly, congratulations on making it through and getting back to writing. When you've been that down, the only way left to go is up, and it sounds like you're doing just that.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's any such thing as Autobiographical Fiction (seems like an oxymoron). I'm still trying to work out what constitutes literary fiction, but it seems to be a writing style rather than the story content. Your project sounds like what I would call contemporary fiction.

I meant to write Biographical fiction rather than Autobiographical.

Where would I find a description of Contemporary fiction?

I've looked and can't find a description. It's what I call one of my books because it doesn't fit any specific genre.

Hopefully someone else can help.
