I was goin a Celtic cross spread, and the question was, "How do I help my boyfriend deal with his depression?" This was the spread I got, and for some reason I couldn't figure out what it meant.

Here's a pic of a numbered spread, since I'll be using numbers for the placements.

celtcross.jpg

1. knight of cups
2. four of swords
3. five of swords reversed
4. king of wands reversed
5. Temperence (which has showed up in every spread I've done in the last week!)
6. queen of coins, reversed
7. two of wants reversed
8. nine of cups reversed
9. Hanging Man
10. knight of wands

Also, as I finished laying down the cards, the Devil and the Lovers cards fell out and I felt they had some significance.

Help? :)

Just by feel--

1. knight of cups --the BF, with issues to fight
2. four of swords -- his major strengths
3. five of swords reversed -- his weaknesses which may feel like they outnumber the strengths
4. king of wands reversed -- he needs to beat back (mentally) that which is holding him back
5. Temperence (which has showed up in every spread I've done in the last week!) be kind to the body--give up smoking, alcohol, bad food, etc
6. queen of coins, reversed -- (pentacles) a woman who wishes to help him but is blocked
7. two of wants reversed --a major decision
8. nine of cups reversed -- he needs to let go of negativity
9. Hanging Man -- is he strong enough to let things go and turn over, literally a new life?
10. knight of wands -- strength, preserverance, and a gentler man
