Just wondered. Most of my work to date has been rhyming, eight lines, highly accessible entertainment for a non-academic audience. I've had fun with limericks too. Recently I was invited to submit a piece to a magazine and having looked at a previous edition the work they feature seems to be... more literary in form.
I'm busy working at something which is a totally different form to what I normally follow. I'm enjoying the challenge even though many words are highlighted on the next reading and changed frequently as they are not quite "right". I will post the finished piece on here when I feel brave enough.
Does anyone else step outside their comfort zone, or have a portfolio of different poetry forms that they adopt?
