What are you watching this fall?

DagnyTaggart

OK, so I think I've got my official lineup for my fall TV viewing schedule.

I've gotta keep my favorite classics: the Office, Grey's, CSI, Lipstick Jungle

But I think I'm going to try out some new shoes, too. There's this one show on CBS called the Ex-List where this woman has one year to find her soul mate or she'll be alone forever... the trick is that she's already met him at some point in her life. Sorry, but I'm totally a rom-com girl at heart and this sounds like it's right up my alley. Looks so cute!

What's on you all's plates?

Cranky, we have similar tastes. :)

House
Bones
Numbers - from time to time
Top Chef - Just discovered this last season - loved it!
Raising the Bar - Just started watching it - so far I really like it

I would also like to find something new and exciting, but so many shows seem to be rehashing old ideas. Anyone found something new that knocks your socks off?

Well as far as returning shows go, I happen to really like both Project Runway and The Amazing Race. Really decent reality tv that I don't even feel a need to qualify.

I'll check out Grey's every once and a while, especially if Kevin McKidd becomes a regular (see there is a perfect example of show don't tell, you can tell me as much as you want that Patrick Dempsey is "McDreamy", but Kevin McKidd . . . well he shows me).

I'm all about Mad Men at the moment, though am a little behind on season two as it is airing on terrestrial television right now a little behind AMC.

I NEED my LOST and BSG, but they aren't coming back till next year . . . sigh.

And really . . . gosh . . . I think that's all. ER has totally lost me, and I was clinging on when no one else was. Desperate Housewives I may check out because of the 5 year time jump, but really I don't think I'll be paying too close attention.

I am glad that Ellen is back though. I just really like her!

I don't have a lot of tv watching time.

Project Runway - because I can't help it.

Mad Men - it's fast becoming a favorite.

Everything else I like I won't commit to needing to watch each week because it'll just make me mad when I miss them.

We dvr a lot of shows too, especially Deadliest Catch and other Discovery, History Channel, Science Channel shows.

Project Runway. Missed last season due to flood repairs.
Mythbusters. I wanna work there!
Divine Design. Candice Olson and team are a bunch of loveable dorks.
Good Eats. Alton Brown is such a loveable dork.

And...that's it. I really don't watch anything else with any regularity, not even on my once-beloved Cartoon Network (what on earth happened to them?!). I'll catch something on Discovery, History Channel, maybe Animal Planet and Nick Toons or Nick 2, but I hardly watch the "big four" networks any longer. (Desperate Housewives? You're dead to me.)

Fall started already?

I'm still on baseball season schedule.

The World Series. (Go, Cubs!)
House.

I might check out the Ex-List--that, too, looks right up my alley. Dagny, The lead actress, Elizabeth Reaser, was in an independent film called "Sweet Land." It's not so much a rom-com as just plain "rom," but it's a great movie, and she was excellent.

House and The Office. I'm going to give Grey's another shot but the season premiere was downright awful, so they have to step it up if I'm going to keep tuning in.

I'll also finish up the season of Project Runway since there's a handful of episodes left.

So Cal
Two and a Half Men
Old Christine
Desperate Housewives (the season premier didn't do too much for me, I'll give it another week to prove itself)
I'm also gonna try out Gary Unmarried.

I don't watch the hour long dramas, if I miss one I feel like I missed too much as opposed to missing a 30 minute show that doesn't necessarily feed off of the previous one.

Bones
30 Rock
Mad Men (though that is more summery)
Pushing Daisies
Ugly Betty

I am also still hanging in there with "Heroes" and "Fringe," but I am not sure how much longer either is going to hold me.

Yes, I'm still tuning in to those, but not paying as much as attention as the others I listed.

and does the 24 movie in November count? Because I will watch the show when it comes back in January if for no other reason than to watch bad-ass Tony on the screen. *sigh, drool[SUP]tm[/SUP]

Okay, I'm not going to post in this thread, strictly out of shame.

Man, do I ever watch a lot of tv!

Hon I bet we could have a contest! I watch waaaaaay too much tv. But my answer to the question wasn't what I watch, but rather what I actively take time to watch, what I am actively looking forward to seeing. I will record the shows I mentioned if I am not home to see them, I don't miss an episode. I take time to keep up with those programmes..

But I will watch almost anything on tv, some of the trashiest stuff, and also the stuff on the Discovery channel. I just don't NEED to see those things. I just wind up watching them if I have nothing better to do.

So it would seem! :D

I don't know about new, but I really enjoyed The Mentalist, and I am liking Fringe so far.

I'm only replying because you called me "Hon" -- I have a few weaknesses, and that's one of them...

Fine then, let's see --

(I'll try to keep this roughly to nights of the week, and to things I think I've got programmed into the PVR):

The Amazing Race
Mad Men
Law & Order: CI
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory
Chuck
Terminator
Heroes
Californication
Pushing Daisies
House
Fringe
Law & Order: SVU
America's Next Top Model
Dirty Sexy Money
Survivor
Smallville
Supernatural
My Name is Earl
The Office
30 Rock
Numbers
Law & Order

I'm sure there are some I've forgotten...

Jurassic Fight Club has caught my fancy, despite some of its supposed errors. That's pretty much the extent of tv shows I try to catch--I love Scrubs, but I've given up following it around through its timeslots. Plus, JD's gotten way too whiny in the last two seasons.

I'm just a sucker for movies and documentaries. :p

Heroes (good so far this season)
Californication
Entourage
Clone Wars (Star Wars addiction is a hard habit to break)
90210 (waiting for it to get good)
Gossip Girl (serious improvement over the first season)
Fringe (faith in this one deteriorating)
Friday Night Lights (when NBC broadcasts it in February)

I only ever commit to TV on Friday nights.

Ghostwhisperer
Numbers

I'm still pretty pissed that Moonlight's cancelled but I'll watch the first episode of that Ex-List in between only because there's a psychic in it. I'm thinking I won't like that show too much.

I think it's worth giving a fair shot to Ex List, if nothing else, it comes on between Ghostwhisperer and Numbers (both of which I love), so it's not like you even have to change the channel. Haha. We'll see... I just think there isn't anything else too promising in that 9 o'clock timeslot.

Ok, I watched the first episode. I'm pretty sure a blank tv screen would be better for that hour :)
