first of all i would like to thank the people of this forum. Ive been reading threads in here for some time and loved every minute of it. just recently i decided to join, I finally finished my first book and cant for the love of God get the attention of any agents do to the lack of intrest in my query. Any advise would be great

i assume you've looked at the background
checks to research on agents?

i also used querytracker.net
as well as agentquery.com

also publishers marketplace.

make sure you have a strong query
before you send out.

can anyone rellme how to get into syw? it asks for a password but when i give it my sig on password it say its wrong.

I am having the same problem. I have rewritten my query letter several times with a new slant, but a true one and resubmitted it. Also, I have paid attention to the agents that are thanked in the books I've read. I write Romantic Suspense. Right now, Kimberly Whalen from Trident has had my book since April and I'm getting worried. I don't know if this is normal or not. I asked about it at the end of June and the assistant said she would get back to me as soon as Kim has read it??? Anyone else out there know if this is normal?

Not unless it is a juvenile book. If so that would work just fine. If you have your story down, then go back and add some scene description, more clarity to the feelings of the characters at any point in time. More about the environment or life experiences of the characters that made them think and feel the way they do. Do I the reader have enough information about the world you've created to leave mine and get sucked into yours? Can you smell the Jasmine? Are your thoughts blurred by their heady, intoxicating fragrance? Or as Charlie Brown twirls on a merry-go-round in the playground can he still smell the stench of the human refuse upon which the park was built?
