I'm about to finish my first one

It's just a few pages from the Fade Out. I started on this thing in mid-April. It's the first script I have undertaken. I don't know how long it should take to write a script, but this is how long it took me.

It would be great if someone who has some professional experience with scripts could read the thing and tell me if I'm at all on the mark.

EDIT: It's a Police Procedural with a few surprises. I'd be happy to read your script as well.

Congrats on the soon finish!

I'm also working on my first, but what I've learned is throw out any scene (or parts of scenes) that don't provide material in relation to the conclusion.

My way of interpreting this advice, take a random scene out and read it by itself. It should tell you something about the way the story wraps together. No small talk in movies, it bores.

I like to play the "what if" game, to see if I can reasonably throw in more twists and still have them add to the build up.

If it doesn't add to the build up, it should add to the theme or character dilemma that they are going through to get to the conclusion.

Someone tell me if I'm just BS'ing, this is just IMO.
