Okay -- just 'new'.
Recently I started to blog and that renewed my interest in all of my favorite things: writing, knitting, crocheting, and ~painting~.
I've been blogging for about a month as an adjunct to more base web-based activities (selling stuff
and, not my plan, the blogging has occupied more of my interest than the selling.
It takes forever to sell stuff on the internet anyway
.
Here is my bio:
I live in Columbus, Ohio. I will be 40 in March (/cry). I've been with the same guy (marriage number 2) for nine years. We have two kids between us (Boxer Dogs). I work in State government.
Here is my issue:
I would NOT lke to get published or find an agent so much as FINISH the project I've been working on for about two years. I have about 160 pages. It is a fast paced, comedic mystery.
Recently, I think I realized that the reason I became 'blocked' (read stymied, annoyed, bitter, frustrated) was because I managed to lose the Voice of my main character admist huge exposition.
That, I fear, is about skill -- integrating both Voice and dull-plot-line together to produce a readable Work.
Ideas on what to do? I hate to start over.
Thanks!
