I submitted a query to an agent I KNEW would reject it. Does that make me a glutten for humiliation?

Yep.

Actually, in my mind, I was thinking, "I need to be rejected. I need to know what it feels like." As if, being picked last for kick ball in third grade wasn't enough. Hey, put it this way, the ground wore my glasses more than I did that year. I'll leave it at that.

This crazy need to control even my rejection is a bit twisted. Hmm, might make for a nice little story actually. But trust me, I realize I'm not doing myself any favors playing these little games. This is a one and done type deal.

The agent was very kind and paid me some very insightful compliments. I still have THREE queries out there that keep me awake at night. Just thought I'd share my saga. Have at me! :)

If the agent bothered to comment on the query, you weren't all that far off querying him. If the query had been off the wall for him, I expect he'd have sent along a form rejection.

You'll just have to work harder on the masochism.

Ha ha, my thinking exactly!! :)

At least you're good enough to be complimented!! :)

And you're actually in the stage of submitting!! - So HOORAY!!! :)

PS My Dad painted the fence outside & it smells real bad in the PC room, yet I can't seem to get away! I think I'm MORE masochistic!! :)

/Had to giggle at the title of your thread! :)/
