In case you haven't heard, the now-defunct historicalfiction.org site has been replaced by historicalfictiononline.com. It's a great place for discussions of historical fiction (both the reading and writing of) and book reviews of historical fiction titles. Please stop by and visit!

Don, I've been having periodic trouble when I log in too. I think it's just some temporary difficulties with the new site software. Keep trying, and if you can't get in, I'll try to contact one of the moderators for you.

Well, I've tried to register or read FAQs and can't get to either. If the site has so much problems with people getting in, I think I"ll just give up.

I can't get anywhere with it, and I've tried on two separate days. (And I have a new computer and DSL.) Can't register, can't read anything. All links bounce back to the initial page for me.

I'll contact the moderator about everyone's problems and she if she can help. Hopefully we can figure out what's going on--it would be a shame to lose you all!

The moderator of Historicalfictiononline.com is not sure why people are having problems getting to the page or registering, but she said if you pm me here with your preferred user ID and email address, she will register you and assign you an initial password, which you can change once you log in to the forum the first time. Or if you just want to pm me a message for her explaining your problem, I will forward that to her.

A member who was having trouble logging in and registering on the site typed the URL (historicalfictiononline.com) directly into her browser instead of clicking on the link I had put in my message, and she had no trouble getting in. If you were foiled by clicking on my link, try going there directly. Hopefully it will work for you!

Doing what you said above definitely worked for me. And I think the site looked a bit different than it did the other day when it didn't work (some label or title at the top that wasn't there before), though I didn't go back and compare both to confirm that. Thank you!
