Here we go. My first post. I just wanted to pop in to say hello to everyone and I look forward to poking around the forum. Actually, I've been coming here for a while but hadn't registered until now.

To introduce myself, I've written my first novel and I'm in the process of finding an agent. I've had one request for a partial read (rejected with a critique) and now another request for a partial read. Hopefully, this one will be my shiny penny.

My day job, which I consider my way of subsidizing my writing, is to produce documentaries for a PBS station. I've done six so far. My latest will be offered nationwide in October. As much as I enjoy my job (I've met some great people) writing is my passion.

There are some very talented people at this site and I want to learn all that I can. I hope to meet you all soon around the water cooler.

WOW! You're a friendly bunch. This is wonderful. I've already been reading the different posts and have learned so much. I'm also on the forum at Writer's Digest and enjoy the sharing of information there, but I felt that it doesn't hurt to expand on the writing sites. I found this site after researching an agent that I queried.

Clair and Kristie, I live in da' U.P. And no...we don't have snow, yet lol. It's actually been quite warm as I'm sure it's been the same where you're both at, too.

Ya' sure, ya' betcha!

Actually, I was born in Indiana. So, technically I'm a Hoosier, but I've lived up here for 16 years now, but my husband is a born Yooper.

The Ludington area is very beautiful. How lucky we are to live on the Great Lakes.

Ha! That's too funny-- I'm "technically" a Hoosier, too. But only by birth. I was 3 when my folks (both Michiganders) moved *back* to the Mitten-shaped state.

I'm trying to talk Hubby into taking a trip to Munising, but looks like we bought brakes for my rusted out POS car instead. (Do you have rust problems up there as bad as we do down here?) I'm nestled about the midway point between Lansing and Detroit.
