This is inspired by Ganesha's prompts. (Pssst. I want more, Ganesh.)

Please feel free to post your poems.

Psst both of you...more, more. I don't know how to download pics or I'd do this too. KTC, a Haiku for your nice photo. :)

tree-enshrouded sun
lances through the leafy dusk
like hope incarnate

lifted above
into the light
one bright star
owns me this night

White light blinded, blazed
creatures dutiful embers
hope's unknown steeple

Above the ground, trees,
Shoulders standing high,
Torn between familiar earth
and beckoning light above.

Beyond the trees, Sun
Blazing in the void,
Thrusting thirsty fingers down
To the earth below.

above the sun draws
me to the tree tops
shows me the beauty
light pours on each
leaf and a world
seeking warmth

Colors mix in the arbor
like wings touching
absolute white
lined with blues
and greens
souls seeking
the light.

lay me to rest 'neath trees
watch sunlight play peek-a-boo
listen to soft rain on boughs
whisper with the leaves

lay me to rest 'neath trees
to be a part of nature's sap
spring-rise and winter-sleep
dust to dust

lay me to rest 'neath trees
brother to the acorn
sister to the sapling
roots of life

today I dreamt of you beneath
a canopy of trees and light

we stood too far apart to touch
yet common ground beneath us

wove our footprints and the earth
a pathway formed, beguiling

dark and damp, the trodden leaves
seemed to circle round and round

'til next to me I felt your breath
and heard your whispered prayer

I reached for you and cried aloud
then felt your calloused fingertips

and there in that pavilion of light
we touched once more, forever

Wherever the next bridge is
Sparkling with each summer breeze,
like emeralds in the sun.

The radiance of cottonwood trees,
beauty is matched by none.

When set to flutter their waxy leaves,
glisten, bedazzle and stun.

As if God created just to please,
the eyes of everyone.
