With the help of some very nice folks in the Children's section of the board, I have figured out that what I like to do is poke fun of adults with childish humor. For example, I get a character drunk and obnoxious and then he has to do something silly to make up for it. My tone is childlike or would appeal to children. While my characters are fantasy characters (dragons, faeries, elves, etc,) the subject matter is not appropriate for children. So, what are my options? What are the different directions that I can go with this style of writing?
A few that I can come up are:
Take out the inappropriate parts: the drinking, the mild swearing, the flirting, etc. And rewrite my short stories for the picture book market. ( approx. 1,000 words/pb)
Leave them as is with some minor changes and put the short stories together as a Chapter book for an older audience.
Poking fun of adults would probably appeal to Middle grade readers so maybe consider a series for the middle grades. (approx. 25,000 word/novel ???)
Teenagers around the age of 13 to 14 would probably find the sexual innuendo and playfulness hilarious, so maybe a young adult series (approx. 80,000 word/novel)
All of the above is also an option.
I don't think I can market my style of humor to an adult market. But, maybe it could.

There is a big difference between writing a 1,000 word short story and an 80,000 word novel.
