Doesn't anyone write about G.I. Gurdjieff anymore? Many years ago, he was the darling of the upper and literary/artistic classes, but now seems to have faded into obscurity. Ex.: Chesterwood in the Berkshires (USA) has a house tour where there is an open volume of G. on the nightstand of one of the owners.
IMHO, one of the greats in terms of bridging East and West. Also, a pioneer re inclusion of Lesbians and African-Americans in esotericism. Devotees include Kathryn Hulme, author of The Nun's Story, Frank Lloyd Wright, Mrs. Enrico Caruso, and Zora Neal Hurston, the GREAT African-American writer. Has G. faded from cultural memory??
