I have few false starts on novels already. These show some commonalities in what I want to say. They also show that I have difficulty finding a premise.
Things I am certain of:
MC is:
Female
Determined
Abuse survivor
Pansexual
Fits a broad definition of the phrase "Lady Warrior"
"You can have a full life after abuse" is one of my themes.
I want to write Sci-fi or fantasy. I read sci-fi or fantasy or romance. I don't want to write fantasy based on medieval europe because I'm Australian and I'm not suffieciently passionate enough about European cultures to make it work.
Academic areas of interest that I can bring to my writing:
History particularly Ancient History although I have done Asian history at a tertiary level too. How societies work fascinates me.
Japanese language, history and culture.
Any suggestions on premise construction?
