Did anybody even know they were making a sequel to Tron? Man the leaked trailer from ComicCon totally caught me by surprise. Apparently Jeff Bridges is back for this one... SWEET. Don't know about Boxleitner or Warner. Between Tron and Wargames I was pretty much glued to my Commodore 64 as a kid. I personally cannot wait for this puppy to be released!

I missed the panel so didn't see the trailer, and all the bootlegged trailers online have been taken down. Not sure about the cast, but Boxleitner was at ComicCon (because he's joining Heroes season 3).

I think TR2N is slated for 2011.

Wow 2011! Oh no... that's an eternity! :D Should be a hell of a summer though, Avengers is also due then.

I actually have the TR2N trailer from RuTube. I really like Boxleitner, that he'll be joining Heroes is a good thing... unlike hearing Smits will be on Dexter. Ugh, talk about the kiss of death!

Do you have a link?

Sure... you can see the trailer here. The quality improves a bit at the 39 second mark. I think Disney will have to wait a while for Mother Russia to adhere to a cease and desist.

It was nuts. They didn't even set it up, the announcer just told everyone to grab a seat because the lights were going off and that they had "a little surprise" that no one else would see for about a year.

I bet. WOW!

They did the same with Hugh Jackman. They just came out and said, "We had a surprise guest" and then the star just walked out. The audience exploded.

There's nothing on TR2N on IMBD except a little blurb page stating 2011. But according to some, it would be released next year instead (probably Xmas). Seems like Disney wants it to be super secretive, but alas, the trailer leaks as expected anyway.

I'm sure Bruce Boxleitner will be in it. How can he not be? That would be outrageous to every TRON fan in the world.

And thanks for the trailer. I've been trying to get a glimpse. Great to see it before Disney managed to get the Russians to cease and desist.

Ummm was that supposed to make me want to see the movie? Cause it looks like Tron redux so why wouldn't i just watch the original again? I hope they have better trailers coming up cause based on that, I'm not standing in line to see it. Sorry Disney.

*Shrugs* I kinda feel the same way about the new Trek flick. Why go back? Then I think about how cool Battlestar Galactica turned out (although season 4 has been lacking) and I'm hopeful. I thought the non-linear path of the cycles was a little odd, but it has been twenty years and things have obviously changed in the Tron universe. As teasers go, I thought that this did the job and when we see Bridges and hear that menacing music... it puts it over the top.

I adore Tron but the last time I watched it I thought it did a disservice to my fond memories because it hasn't held up well with time. Today's audiences deserve a Tron of their own. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, especially with the high powered support the project is getting from John Lasseter over at Disney Animation/Pixar. Toss in the fact that a couple of "Lost" collaborators are the ones responsible for the script and I think we could see some magic here.

This was a teaser, to get people talking and it surely did that. Proper perspective should be given to that fact.

I read an interview a long time ago with Jeff Bridges wherein he said he wanted to do another Tron. Looks like he did just that.

This trailer looks pisspoor by trailer standards but I bet it was cool to see it in a theater. The part where Bridges face appears was a cool bit.

The lightcycles...where are the 90 degree turns?

It looked extremely cool in person and the sound was loud enough to rattle your fillings loose.

Honestly, I think Tron was due for a reboot. The original was okay, but the effects were only a little better than, oh say, Ralph Bakshi's version of Lord of the Rings. The Peter Jackson version was waaaaaaayyyy better. Here's hoping TR2N has that same level of improvement.
