If this is a silly question I apologise...

When someone wants to see the first ten pages, do you literally cut at ten pages, even if it's mid-scene?

If you're talking about the Share Your Work section of this board then you can post what you've got after page ten until the end of the scene assuming that scene doesn't go on for another five pages. Alternatively, if you've got a scene ending on page ten and another scene starting on page ten, consider cutting the new scene.

Basically, it's felixible but try not to go overboard.

And if it's 10 pages for a contest submission then yes, cut even if it's in mid-scene. But if there's a killer paragraph just over the page, rewrite your earlier pages somehow to pull this onto Page 10, even if it makes you weep. :)

I recently participated in Bluecat Screenplay 10 pages workshop. I kept rewriting until my scene ended right at ten pages. A lot of times you can cut one word on a sentence and that will move everything up one line.
