So what I'm 23? I still like watching all the good old stuff I enjoyed as a kid...

Anyone remember Maid Marian and her Merry Men on CBBC? I've got the first series on DVD now after over 15 years since I watched it as a kid - it's even funnier now I'm older.

I loved The Moomins too, I still do in fact. Some things you just never grow out of.

And I loved The Racoons, Barbar (Sp?) Teenage Mutant Hero (Ninja?) Turtles - the original series not today's version) X-Men, Spiderman.... all of them! Oh and Thundercats! I wish I could watch them all over again but they don't seem to be on any of the channels I have anymore.

Thundercats, Silverhawks, and GI Joe were my particular favorites. My brother and I watched them together when we got home from school. I wasn't as into the Saturday morning cartoons, or at least I don't remember them as well.

I'd forgotten about the Moomins! That was a weird show, as I recall.

And yeah, I still like cartoons and I'm 15 years older than you are.

I liked the original Transformers and the original Bugs Bunny and Road Runner Show. That was a great 4 hour Saturday morning.

Now Avatar The Last Airbender has been a great one.

Still watch all the classic Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies. Love Popeye (looking forward to getting the box sets when they become more affordable). Peanuts specials. Original Transformers and GI Joe. Fleischer Superman. As Told by Ginger. Flintstones and Jetsons in small doses. Spielberg/Amblin stuff (Pinky and the Brain, etc.) Thundercats, He-Man, Voltron. Battle of the Planets/G-Force.

Voltron was my favourite, and he-man.......Try watching cartoons on saturdays these days and I think to myself "what the...". And I know it's not just that Ive grown up since I still enjoy the old shows. What happened??

childeroland- I would absolutely have to add Peanuts. I have all their holiday specials on DVD and still watch them everytime they come on :snoopy:

I do like As Told By Ginger too "Hello Stranger" "And She Was Gone" are my favs.

Love the Looney Tunes, and I've always loved Popeye. Before I had kids, my husband and I used to watch Hey Arnold! and The Wild Thornberries religiously. My kids liked Fillmore and The Weekenders (on Toon Disney), and I liked them because there was a degree of intelligence about them. They liked the Avatar series quite a bit, and I have to admit that even I liked Power Rangers: Ninja Storm.

I love kids movies, though, and just a few nights ago they ran Nanny McPhee. Hubby was on a fishing trip, kids were hanging with Uncle Dave. It was just me and the dog. It was a great couple of hours. We just saw Kung Fu Panda. Pretty funny!

Thanks to DVD, I've been able to see The Mighty Isis (very, very poor film quality), Robotech, and She-Ra, Princess of Power. Star Trek (the cartoon series) was another one that was great to see after so many years!

Wait a minute, there's a cartoon series of Star Trek? Star Trek owns, but I had no idea that it was a cartoon.

The Old cartoons I love are: The Flinstones, Batman, Spiderman.

And to quote another person: I LOVE AVATAR! You should see the ending. So much conflict. It was the most satisfying ending I have ever seen.

The Star Trek cartoon came out in the 70s, I believe. Not bad. Not great. But enjoyable if you're a fan.

I love Johnny Quest. Thought it was great as a kid and still think it's one of the best cartoons EVAH.

The original Scooby-Do, Where Are You? is good too, before they added Crappy-Do and all the other Do-Dos.

And of course, Looney Tunes are a classic that crosses all generations.

A bit before that. And yeah, I stopped watching scooby-doo after watching the the first movie.

The original series was cancelled before those five years were up, so they continued it as a cartoon.

I love cartoons, even some of the more modern ones. Samurai Jack is a particularly fine example.

It aired in 1973, three years before Trek fandom really started to take hold.

One thing notable about it was that the female characters got better roles than in the original aired series. There were a couple of storylines where they figured quite prominently. The cartoon version also presented opportunities to do more alien aliens instead of humanoid aliens.

Ooh, ooh! How could I forget this one! I was disappointed when it was pulled from the air for political correctness--never thought I'd see it turn up on DVD. The remake just didn't have what the original series had.

Even though this show is 44 years old (I couldn't believe that when I checked the date), the animation is still on a level that a lot of shows today don't have. When I watched it recently on DVD, I was amazed at the level of detail, right down the shadows.

Hmm ... maybe I need to break out the DVD again and watch some of them ...

Loony Tunes are fantastic. I have the golden collection on DVD. I hate Porky Pig though, I can't stand his stupid stutter. Daffy Duck is my absolute favourite, followed by Bugs of course.

I can't stand Disney characters, apart from Donald the Duck. Mickey Mouse should be stamped on, along with his stinking little girlfriend.

I watched the Secret of Nimh recently. I always get nervous when I watch something I loved as a child again, more often than not I get my heart broken. This time it was still really good.
