News from tor.com just released information that the folks who are bringing Captain Marvel to the screen is also doing the next Doc Savage movie. Sounds interesting.

Here's what I read.

From tor.com:
http://www.tor.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=blog&id=1778

"At a panel on Doc Savage <http://www.docsavage.org/>, the pulp hero who
inspired/was ripped off by the creators of Superman and Batman, among
other creators of your favorite Golden Age comic book superheroes,
long-time superhero movie producer Michael Uslan
<http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0882388/> (who is also producing the
upcoming Captain Marvel <http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448115/> film) let
slip that a new Doc Savage film adaptation is in the works."

Well, that sounds promising. Doesn't it? Especially since the Gov is too
busy to ruin, I mean, play Doc Savage.

What the...?

The Adventures of Buckaroo Bansai was a Doc Savage adaptation? I guess if you squint and tilt your head to one side and look at the TV at an angle...

What Gov would play Doc Savage? Arnold? I think he's much too bulky (and old) to play that. And his accent. Oy.

I mean, for all it's campiness, Ron Ely had the perfect body type for Doc Savage.

I agree. As campy as the 1975 Doc Savage movie was, I still enjoy the darn thing. And I also think that Ron Ely had the right build for Doc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they keep the character in form in the new movie. With this current trend Hollywood has towards comedy today, I shudder at the thought to what they might do to Doc Savage and his crew. That, or he'll be able to jump tall buildings in a single leap, or out run a train or something!

I can't imagine Arnold as Doc Savage. No. Not right. Can't someone buy one of those laser pointers and distract him for a few months?
