I randomly came up with this idea as I was writing my blog.
If your novel were a recipe, what would the main ingredients be? What would each ingedient have in ITS ingedient list? How much of each ingredient goes into the mix?
I did it for my current WIP:
Tragedy: war, death, and slavery [1 1/2 cups]
Romance: A Briton girl and a Roman man, two Britons forced apart. [2 cups]
Intrigue: the mistress of the house is carrying on an affair; the master of another house is falling out of the favor of a dangerous Emperor; our young Roman man finds himself to a plot to assasinate said Emperor; poison, sex, and gold are the key ingredients in this product. [3 tablespons]
It helps to give you an idea of what makes your story tick. I thought it was kind of fun to do. Give it a try!
