I have an idea for a reality show but don't know how to proceed. There's no script to pitch. Any advice would be appreciated.

Dee -

I don't know much about reality tv but I do know that you need to write out a treatment / series proposal in as much detail as possible of exactly how the series will work.

This means write down how the both the series and each episoe will be constructed .

For example if it's a competitive reality series like American Idol or The Apprentice - how many contestants, what types of competitions there will be, how the eliminations will be handled, what the ultimate prize is, etc.

Once you have written your proposal register it with the WGA.

You cannot copyright an idea. It is difficult to protect a one sentence concept in any fashion, so the more details you have worked out and on paper, the better off you are.

After you've registered, I'd do some research on Reality Show producers and start querying them.
