Can you get there from here, and how long?

This isn't going to help much, but it's what I found when I was researching a similar question -

Merchant ships averaged about 5 knots per hour (5.8 mph)

the time of year, and the route? The type of sailing ship and who owned it?

The navy would be swift and efficient.

A passenger ship would depend a great deal on whether it was specifically for people or was a cargo ship carrying passengers. Who owned it and how they ran it would determine the type of crew and the crew sailed the ship!

Sort that lot out in your mind and post your details. Then the sailing experts will appear to answer your question.

The weather is going to make a huge amount of difference here. Get caught in a big blow in the Bay of Biscay and you might never arrive!
